On November, 14-15, 2024 an associate professor of the Melitopol State Pedagogical Universitynamed after Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Tetiana Konovalenko based on the materials developed together with the University rector Natalia Falko took part in the II International Conference “Strengthening the Quality and Relevance of the 3rd Mission in Georgian Universities”, organized at the Caucasus University (Tbilisi, Georgia) according to the results of implementing the same named Erasmus+ project aimed at the development of higher education.
At the conference, the experience of implementing the project “Universities – communities: strengthening cooperation” (UNICOM) was presented, includinggeneral information about the project, the completed tasks and achieved results, the current tasks and results in the near future, the priority areas for implementing the Third Mission by Ukrainian Universities within the project. The conference participants were also presented with the accumulated by HEI experience regarding cooperation with communities and the authorities before a full-scale invasion, which contributed to the restoration of socially valuable joint initiatives in those hard times.
In her report, Tetiana Konovalenko demonstrated how the Erasmus+ project “Universities – communities: strengthening cooperation” affected the development strategies of Ukrainian Universities, contributed to the expansion of cooperation with stakeholders, strengthenedthe scale of public initiatives, sustainability and social cohesion of the society. Cases of successfully implemented socially valuable actions, both at the community level and at the national and international levels, were also presented.
Participation in the conference was also useful for gaining experience in the implementation of a similar project throughout its full life cycle with the presented results of internal and external assessment of its quality, its advantages and recommendations for improvement. Acquaintance and communication with the consortium representatives of the project “Strengthening the Quality and Relevance of the 3rd Mission in Georgian Universities” became the beginning of exchanging experience and further cooperation.
