On 29–30 January 2026, representatives of the UNICOM project Consortium — University of Genoa and Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Melitopol State Pedagogical University — together with the Department of Educational Studies and Art Pedagogy and other partners, organised and held the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Contemporary Transformations of Teacher Education: Issues of Theory and Practice.”

The event brought together 366 participants from six countries—Ukraine, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Germany, and China—representing 101 educational institutions, research organisations, and other institutions, which demonstrates significant academic and international interest in the conference theme.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by representatives of the University of Genoa (Italy), Guido Franco Amoretti and Diana Spulber. In their addresses, they expressed gratitude for fruitful international cooperation and joint projects, and also voiced their admiration for the resilience and professional commitment of academic staff at Ukrainian universities under today’s challenging conditions.

Representatives of the Consortium also shared best practices and key results of the UNICOM project through the following presentations: “The UNICOM Project and Its Impact on the Elaboration of State Policy on Supporting the Third Mission of Universities in Ukraine” (Guido Franco Amoretti and Diana Spulber) and “The Role of International Projects in Educators’ Continuing Professional Development” (Tetiana Konovalenko).
